Surf Art: Exploring California’s Coastal Culture
Curator and artist, Phil Roberts, and I in front of my pieces at Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA).
Earlier this year I set an intention to focus on more gallery work— the Universe really tuned in!
Thanks to Phil Roberts, this intention became a dream come true.
A handful of my paintings landed in the dual exhibition, Surf Art: Exploring California’s Coastal Culture in August and September this year. Working with the wonderful folks at Oceanside Museum of Art and the California Surf Museum they chose an array of paintings and even a newly finished board I painted on a Craig Hollingsworth 6’11 Lightning Bolt Pipeliner.
We celebrated the opening on August 23rd at OMA, and the second opening at CSM on Sept 17th. Both opening nights were jam packed. It was such a joy meeting other talented artists especially ones I’ve looked up to for years.
Both exhibitions run through Feb 1, 2026.

The Oceanside Museum of Art asked me to collaborate with them on their t-shirt design for California Surfing Day, celebrated annually on September 20th. We landed on the piece “MC Touching the Sky” (the top painting shown above). The shirts go to supporting the museums and the show. Shirts can be purchased here.
Biggest gratitude to Phil, Katie at OMA, and Wade for putting together an incredible show!
